CIFAS marker wrongly added to credit file **Hello all!** TLDR Version: Revolut incorrectly applied a CIFAS marker over 2 and a half years ago, it fucked me up substantially, as well as my credit file & a mortgage application. I recently found out about it & submitted an appeal to have it overturned, it was instantly successful and now I want to know what my next steps are because of this blatant & damaging mistake by Revolut... **Short backstory:** I recently applied to open a new bank account and was instantly declined. I called the bank's application helpline to find out why, and they told me there was a CIFAS marker against my name. They advised me to either contact the bank that had placed the marker and request a Subject Access Request (SAR), or contact CIFAS directly for a Data Subject Access Request (DSAR). I had no idea who had placed the marker, so I requested a DSAR from CIFAS. About 10 days later, the report arrived and showed that Revolut had placed a **\"Misuse of Facility\"** marker against me. I contacted Revolut to understand why, and they replied asking for information about a Ā£660 transaction from March 2024. I immediately knew what transaction they were referring to. It was a private sale of a pair of trainers. As far as I was concerned, the sale had gone perfectly. I had Royal Mail tracking confirming delivery, and the buyer even confirmed they had received the trainers. After that, I never heard from them again. It turns out the buyer had apparently disputed the payment, either by claiming they never made the transaction or by alleging that I never sent the trainers or never owned them in the first place. Thankfully, appealing the decision was straightforward. I was able to provide all the evidence proving the transaction was genuine, and within five days of my initial e…

[IE] Revolut Account Closure - unhappy customer. Help/support? i have been a loyal revolut customer for years now. I use the app for day to day expenditure and more recently in a joint account with my wife. I have never used it for crypto or investment. unfortunately the below all started quickly after upgrading to a premium account I received an email 6 weeks ago that as a standard process of review they required further information. the email specified a date and that if the documents were not upload restrictions would be placed until I uploaded them. I unfortunately missed this date due to personal/work reasons. I uploaded the documents 4 days later but at this stage my account was ā€˜blocked’. they went on to rejected my submission which included year end tax certificate and monthly payslips x 3. i then tried to contact via chat support and ultimately via a complaint process but I feel like I am constantly chatting with a ā€˜bot’ or someone who is not really listening to me and simply stating that the decision cannot be overturned. also there was a recent Irish times article detailing a very similar situation. Again I mentioned this in my complaint process but it was not acknowledged i I have also posted a letter to the Dublin space in WeWork but again they Returned a dissatisfactory response has anyone been in a similar situation? Is there even a point in further pursuing this? incredibly frustrating - it is as if they do not want customers

[HU]Revolut restricted my Pro account before the deadline and is now holding my payment. Avoid at all cost!! I’ve completely lost trust in Revolut. They gave me until **August 10** to provide additional documents for my Pro account. I didn’t even wait for the deadline and submitted everything immediately. Then they asked for more details such as: My LinkedIn profile My Upwork profile My contract My invoice Proof that the invoice had been paid by my client Instead of completing the review, they came back asking for even more documents and **restricted my account before the deadline they gave me**. Now I have a payment on the way that I can’t access because of their restriction. I asked for one simple compromise: temporarily lift the restriction for **3 days** so I could receive the payment while I gathered the extra documents they requested. They refused without offering any reasonable solution. I’ve been paying for the **Ultra plan** for years. I’ve paid subscription fees, transaction fees, and trusted them with my business. The moment I actually needed support, they completely failed me. Their customer support is an absolute joke: Every reply comes from a different agent. Nobody reads the conversation history. Questions are ignored. You get the same generic copy-and-paste responses over and over. Meanwhile, they keep increasing fees, replacing cashback with RevPoints, and making the service worse while charging customers more. If your business depends on getting paid on time, **don’t rely on Revolut**. They can restrict your account while you’re actively cooperating with their review and leave you unable to receive money, with no real explanation and no meaningful customer support. I’m moving my business elsewhere. I’d rather use **Wise**, **Payoneer**, or almost any company that treats its paying customers with basic respect. Has anyone else …

Revolut account blocked I'm utterly desperate and hoping someone can help. Revolut has blocked my account and it is where all of my money is. I am a New Zealander based in Italy where I started a small business. I use Revolut for all of my business banking. They recently asked me to provide my visa which is currently being renewed - very standard here in Italy (I have to reapply every year). When this happens there is a period where you are, in theory, here on an expired visa (but still legally as my renewal appointment is imminent). Revolut started chasing me for the new visa and I explained that my appointment is next week and the physical visa will arrive several months later. They gave me a four month extension on my account but alerts kept appearing on my account saying it was about to be restricted. I had to escalate the issue to the complaints team who wrote a huge apology, credited my account €75 and assured me there will be no restrictions on my account. Less than 24 hours later the account was restricted. I can no longer access any of my money. I am - honestly - terrified. This week I have to transfer a huge chunk of the money in this account for tax purposes. In the meantime I cannot operate my business as I cannot access my funds to purchase the day to day operational requirements. I am not joking when I say I have spoken to nearly 40 different agents. Each one tells me a different story, contradicting each other constantly. Each agent assures me they are now looking after my situation and are 'not going anywhere'. Literally an hour into our conversation they simply disappear and I am left having to explain my situation to a new agent. I have reached out to numerous people in both Italy and New Zealand who work at Revolut on LinkedIn for assistance - so far I have had no solutio…

[IT] €1,000+ fraudulent transactions on Revolut (ITA) while traveling. App blocked, zero support, no phone number Hi everyone, I’m facing a critical security issue with my Italian Revolut account and desperately need advice on how to escalate this, as Revolut’s support system is completely failing me. **The Situation:** I am currently on vacation in Spain. Today, out of nowhere, **four unauthorized transactions** appeared on my Revolut credit card for **ITA Airways**, totaling **over €1,000**. **Important Security Detail:** I have **never** used this physical credit card. It has only ever been used via **Apple Pay**, which should be the most secure method available. Somehow, the card details were leaked or compromised. **The Current Nightmare:** 1. **Card Terminated:** As soon as I spotted the fraudulent charges, I immediately deleted/terminated the compromised card. 2. **Account Locked:** Shortly after, Revolut completely blocked my access to the mobile app. I can no longer log in. 3. **Zero Support:** Because I am locked out of the app, I cannot use the in-app chat to get support. To make matters worse, Revolut provides **no customer support phone number** on their website to handle urgent fraud cases like this. My money is now completely trapped, and because I have zero visibility or control over my account, I don't even know if more transactions are going through. Has anyone dealt with a complete app lockout during an active fraud incident? How can I reach a human at Revolut immediately when the app is blocked and there is no phone support? Any help, tags to official support handles, or escalation tips would be highly appreciated.

Should I hire a solicitor in Ireland after Revolut has frozen my personal account for over two months? Hi everyone, I'm looking for some advice from people familiar with Irish banking law or financial disputes. My personal Revolut account has been under restrictions since **6 May 2026**. More than two months have now passed. To be clear, I completely understand that banks have legal obligations to carry out AML and compliance checks. I am **not** complaining about the existence of those checks. My concern is how this review has been handled. So far: * my account has remained restricted for over two months; * I have not been asked to provide any meaningful documentation or explanation; * I have never been given a realistic timeframe for completion; * every contact with support results in the same answer: \"the review is ongoing.\" I submitted a formal complaint to Revolut. Interestingly, Revolut **upheld my complaint** and even offered compensation for the way the case had been handled. However, despite acknowledging shortcomings in their handling of the matter, the account restrictions remain in place. I have since: * referred the matter to the Financial Services and Pensions Ombudsman (FSPO); * submitted additional information to the FSPO as the situation has continued; * recently submitted a supervisory concern to the Bank of Lithuania, as Revolut Bank UAB is regulated there. At this point I feel I have exhausted all internal remedies. My questions are: 1. Is there any realistic benefit in instructing an Irish solicitor before the FSPO process is completed? 2. Is there any legal mechanism in Ireland that could compel Revolut to either complete the review or justify the continued restrictions? 3. Has anyone here instructed a solicitor against a bank in similar circumstances? 4. Roughly what would I expect to pay for: * an initial consultation; * a sol…
